Valor Mortis The Emissary prerequisites

Valor Mortis The Emissary begins in Valley of Ashes, near The Other Side. The poison section is a return route: the needed Shield comes much later at the University in Chapter 8. Repeatedly attempting the poison crossing before that unlock is not the intended route described by the guides.

Inspect the carriage near The Other Side in Chapter 2 and obtain the Royal Seal that starts this chain.

After the Chapter 5 Slaughtermill fight, search the windmill route for the Royal Letter. Keep the early seal and later letter as separate checkpoints.

Continue the main story to the University in Chapter 8. Obtain Shield before returning to the poison route.

Travel back to Valley of Ashes / The Other Side. At the poison camp, inspect the body and note before crossing with Shield.

Shoot the weak point at the train to continue. A tent contains the optional Perfect Copy chest; collect it if you want that Amber.

Continue to the blocked gate and interact with the final red-cloth point. This finishes the quest and yields Sands of Time.

Valor Mortis The Emissary: region and ability check

The Other Side in Valor Mortis The Emissary is in Valley of Ashes, not the Fortress. If you cannot survive the poison route, confirm Shield is unlocked. If you found Perfect Copy but the quest remains active, continue to the final interaction.
