Valor Mortis Build Guide

These Valor Mortis build suggestions follow documented mechanics. They are starting points for your own testing, not a measured DPS ranking. Use only the weapons and Amber slots you currently have; do not assume a complete endgame set is available early.

Valor Mortis build: Saber + Dominatus + Marksman’s Bane

For this Valor Mortis build, use the Saber as a familiar blade while learning critical openings. Dominatus heals on a critical attack; Marksman’s Bane adds the documented bullet-parry and Pistol-round interaction. The connection is successful defensive timing leading into a critical opening, not a passive damage bonus.

Rapier is a later Valor Mortis build alternative for a more deliberate melee approach, but do not assume the demo’s held-block behaviour applies unchanged to every retail setup. Begin with the weapon whose defence you can reliably execute.

Valor Mortis build: Pistol + Sleight of Hand + Volatile End

For this Valor Mortis build, create room, take a weak-point shot, then switch back to the weapon that manages the next exchange. Sleight of Hand supports switching through its reload effect; Volatile End adds an explosion to a firearm weak-point hit. Marksman’s Bane is a later component if you also build around bullet parries.

This Valor Mortis build loses its advantage when shots miss the weak point. Prioritise clean sightlines over firing on cooldown. The Pistol starts in Chapter 2; Musket is a Chapter 5 option, so this is not an opening-battlefield loadout.

Valor Mortis build: Butcher’s Carnage + Dominatus

This Valor Mortis build uses Butcher’s Carnage to heal through melee hits and disables flask healing. Dominatus supplies a different healing trigger through critical attacks. Choose a weapon whose openings you understand, especially before committing to Claymore’s later route.

Test this Valor Mortis build in a familiar area before taking the setup into an unfamiliar boss. We do not assign an invented damage multiplier, slot level or guaranteed “best build” label.
